On Sunday, June 18th at 11AM– we held a grand Juneteenth/Father’s Day celebration! The membership gathered adorned in African attire to worship our Lord. We gave thanks and commemorated our heritage by participating in a historical flashback of days past. We promised to have a day full of surprises and oh boy did we!
The service started off to the beat of African drums. Our Heavenly Sent Angels reorganized and led us into worship through dance! They entered the sanctuary strolling down the isles as if they were walking across the mother land and they were singing a Soweto song of praise. Our Media Ministry aided by opening worship with a slide show of local pioneers that was prepared by Reverend Pavel Garner.
We promised a surprise for the Dad’s on that day too! The Christian Education Ministry blessed all our Father’s and visiting Men with a “Good Deed are a Measure of a Man’s Faith 4 in 1 tool set! Brother Ronaldvan Jones was recognized as the youngest married father and Chairman Emeritus Deacon Otis Powell was recognized as the oldest father and they both were blessed with a monetary gift. Then we went to the pinnacle of worship being blessed with a power packed word from our guest preacher Pastor James Hillian, Jr. from
